The Border outfit overpowered Wagga’s Kildare Catholic College in the dying stages to record an 8.3 (51) to 5.5 (35) victory in the decider at Lavington Sportsground on Wednesday.
Kildare led up until the final five minutes when Xavier banged home three late goals to capture the title.
Xavier booked its place in the decider with comprehensive victories against Wollongong’s Edmund Rice College, 8.7 (55) to 1.1 (7), and St Francis de Sales College from Leeton, 8.3 (51) to 3.3 (21) at Urana Road Oval earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC) qualified for the under 15 boys state finals after a dominant display at Albury Sportsground.
TRAC proved too good for Xavier High School and St Francis de Sales Regional College, beating them by 50 points and 112 points, respectively, to win the Southern NSW title.
The state final will be held in Albury on September 26.
