Attending a public event can be daunting for a lot of people. Not so if you come along to the Cosplay event called Border Dimensions (BD).
BD is the premier event for pop culture fans on the border and surrounds. Held each year, it has a show floor packed with exhibitors, great celebrities, cosplay competitions, anime workshops, family fun, multiple panel events and more. It is your chance to dress up (or not) and enjoy the fun atmosphere of amazing characters and costumes.
BD is hosted by the Rotary Club of Albury Wodonga Sunrise. It follows in the footsteps of Oz Comic-Con and Supernova, which are held in Melbourne and Sydney respectively, and caters to all things geeky! In 2018 it is Wodonga’s turn to act as host. The inside space of The Cube will have a great range of stall holders many of whom reside locally. Here you will be able to find all about the Pop Culture activities from gaming to comics as well as cosplay to animation within the Albury Wodonga and broader region. Plus R2D2 and his Storm Trooper mates from 501st Legion will be scooting around greeting guests and excited to see anyone in a Star Wars costume.
Excited to get back after his tour of the UK our MC, actor and stand-up comedian Rob Lloyd, will be returning for the third year of Border Dimensions. His funny and entertaining 'nerd trivia' a great hit in previous years, will be a highlight. Along with Rob the fun and entertainment will continue with our special guest “BAJO” (Steven O'Donnell). Bajo, which is Steven’s gamer tag, was formerly the host of the ABC gaming show "Good Game". He is currently a twitch streamer, actor, author and video game critic. Bajo will be doing signings along with a Q&A panel session. There will be junior and adult cosplay competition for those who like to dress up.
Along with all the amazing stallholders Anime sessions will give you a chance to participate and share your skills with other budding artists. In conjunction with Anime, Chris Kennett, will explain his role as an illustrator and be available to sign his latest books especially the Star Wars "Golden Books" series. The courtyard of the Cube’s will have the team from ‘Sword Craft’ demonstrate live action medieval outfits and fight scenes.
Border Dimensions is on at the The Cube 118 Hovell St, Wodonga on Saturday 6th October from 10.00am to 4.00pm. (early registration from 9.30am). Entry is $15.00 ($2 for under-8’s with a parent). There are no other charges once inside apart from what you purchase at the various stalls. Information and ticket details are available at www.borderdimensions.com
