Our Year 12 students have commenced their HSC exams and all reports are that they are applying themselves to the task with diligence.
Their last exam is on Friday November 9. Their Graduation Mass and Cocktail Evening will take place on Tuesday November 13 and I look forward to celebrating the achievements of our Class of 2018 with all those in attendance. Details of the event have been forwarded to all Year 12 students and their families.
As part of the sesquicentenary of the arrival of the Sisters of Mercy in Albury in 1868 and the Christian Brothers in 1917, there is small display of memorabilia in our office foyer depicting the early days of St Joseph’s Ladies College and Aquinas. Please feel free to come and look at a very small snippet of our history.
Today staff celebrated World Teachers Day with a morning tea. Fundraising by the way of purchasing badges signifying ways in which teachers make a difference went towards the Make-A-Wish Australia foundation.
Over sixty five Year 9 students nominated to be part of our Peer Support Program in 2019. I thank all students who nominated and congratulate the forty five students who were successful in being a leader within the program commencing in the new year.
A reminder that Term 4 will conclude for all students on Friday, December 14 at 3.20pm. As it is a normal school day all students are required to be at school for their regular classes and events. The following week staff will be involved with professional development finishing their year on Wednesday, December 19.
2019 commences for students in Years 7, 10, 11 and 12 on Thursday, January 31 and Years 8 and 9 on Friday, February 1.
