The term has already begun at quite a rate.  Some of our students have begun the term working with primary students across the Diocese at their athletics carnival while others have worked to improve our local environment, planting over 700 trees this past week.  Still more have travelled to Wagga to take part in a Mathematics Inquisitive Minds day. These students, and all those who began the term at Xavier, have embraced these opportunities and the daily interactions experienced as opportunities to share peace with one another.  

In other news this week, our Year 10 students have begun work around subject selection for their Stage 6 courses.  There have been lots of questions and lots of discussions. I ask you to please have the conversations with your son or daughter about what they are hoping to do and take the opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have with the staff involved. 

Looking forward to next week, we will be showcasing the hospitality of our Xavier community when we welcome the 2019 Chinese delegation from our sister schools in Nanping.  Each year, this visit brings great excitement, opportunity, friendship and learning and, I am sure, this year will be no different. I would like to thank all those families who will be involved in working with, hosting and supporting our visiting students during their time here.  Without your help, we would not be able to continue this fantastic experience.  

Both the Senior and Intermediate teams won their grand final matches and the junior team unfortunately went down in the semi finals.

The Faculty Fair will be held in the Catherine McAuley Centre, from 4:30pm until 7:00pm, to allow parents and students further opportunities to consult KLA Coordinators about what specific courses may involve.  Every half hour beginning at 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30pm there will be a parent information session held in the Agora. This session is designed to guide parents in the requirements of the HSC and in the process of helping their children to make the most appropriate choices.
