This week we welcomed staff and students from Yuendumu to our school. Yuendumu is a remote Northern Territory community located 300km North West of Alice Springs.
Over many years, Xavier High School has continued to develop strong relationship with the students and community of Yuendumu through our immersion program. On Tuesday evening we hosted a dinner at the school for our visitors and I thank everyone who volunteered their time to help coordinate this event. Our visitors also enjoyed a trip to the snow and I am sure this was an exciting part of their visit.
A special thank you to all Xavier families and staff who hosted our Chinese visitors last week. I hope this was an enjoyable experience for you and your family. Also thank you to those staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make our guests feel welcome in our school and community.
The Academic Assembly was held on Tuesday 6 August. This assembly provided an opportunity for the school community to come together and recognise those students who achieved three or more A Grades. Congratulations to those students who received these merit awards.
Our Year 12's commenced their trial HSC exams this week and we wish them good luck. Please keep them in your thoughts as they sit these exams over the next few weeks.
As we head into a very wintery weekend please stay warm, dry and safe.
