Year 12 HSC trial exams continued for another week and we think of our Year 12 students during this time. At the conclusion of the HSC trials, Year 12 students will have greater clarity on the areas of their studies that need particular focus. I encourage them to take on board the feedback and assistance of their teachers as they continue their preparations for their final HSC exams in October.
Subject selection for Stage 5 is underway. Students in Years 8 and 9 can now select their electives for next year. A subject selection information session was held on Tuesday evening. This session provided information to parents about elective options for Year 9 and 10 2020. When selecting elective subjects it is important for students to select subjects they are interested in and will enjoy. Students have until 9am Monday of Week 5 to choose their subject preferences.
On Thursday all staff and students gathered for the Feast of the Assumption whole school Mass. The opportunity saw the school come together to acknowledge the Great Women of God.
Thursday also saw a number of students represent Xavier at the Diocesan Basketball Championships. Both our junior boys and girls teams walked away winners on the day, as did the intermediate boys with the intermediate girls narrowly placing second.
