Xanadu Jr
2018
Congratulations to all our current and past students for their outstanding efforts in preparing for, and performing in, the most recent undertaking of Xanadu from BYTEsized Productions.

Students have been rehearsing for months in order to present an entertaining show full of great music, colour and disco balls! Reliving the hit songs that were made popular in the movie by Olivia Newton John, ELO and Gene Kelly to name a few, Mitchell Clarke, Zali Stringer, Hope Chater gave impressive performances in their leading roles, alongside Ensemble members Joe Mansell and Venessa Smith, with Jack Mitsch working backstage.

It is also impressive to have many of our past students continuing to make their presence felt in our local theatrical opportunities. Take a bow one and all! We are always very proud of the way in which you represent our school within the local community.

Chicago
2018
It is incredibly gratifying when students continue to successfully pursue their passions once they have stepped beyond the school gates. Putting their learning, skills, hardwork and talent to work Lilly Ratcliffe-Reid and Nick Keogh from the class of 2017 shone as part of Albury Wodonga Theatre Company’s 2018 production of Chicago. Having pursued their Higher School Certificate studies of Music, Drama and the Creative Arts, they are now sharing their learnings and experience within the local and international theatrical and music scene. Congratulations Lilly and Nick. You are a wonderful example of where the Arts can lead!

Beauty and The Beast JR
2017
Jack Mitsch was told by his sister he would make a good Gaston – though he’s not sure it was a compliment. Nonetheless, the 15-year-old Xavier student was thrilled to be playing the egotistic villain in Beauty and The Beast JR. The BYTE Sized Productions musical features its biggest ever cast of 66, including Mitch Clarke and Joe Mansell also from Xavier High School. “I’m friends with Lumière (Joseph Mansell) in real life, so I wanted to play Cogsworth.” Xavier was proud to have many of our young performers as part of the cast of this local amateur production. Congratulations to all involved.

Shrek
2016
Xavier is delighted to congratulate some of our wonderful young performers for their recent involvement in the BYTESized Productions performance of Shrek. Jack Mitsch,
Mitchell Clarke, Ciara Murtagh and Zali Stringer all gave stellar performances in their respective roles. Further congratulations to Mitchell Clarke (Yr 8) on recently winning a Georgy Award for ‘Best Junior Supporting Performance (Male)’ for his role as Lord Farquaad in the ‘Shrek the Musical Jnr.’ Mitchell has also been nominated for the CAT Awards (Canberra Area Theatre Awards) for his performance. Jack Mitsch (Yr 9) is also to be congratulated for his nomination for ‘Best Junior Performance (Male)’ for his role as Donkey in the same production. The Georgy Awards recognise theatrical excellence in the Goulburn Valley area and we are extremely proud of both of these students.

Jack and Mitch spoke with Year 2 students at St Anne’s Primary School to talk about their roles as Donkey and Lord Farquaad in Shrek Jr the Musical. The Year 2’s erupted into a fit of shocked giggles when they found out that Shrek and Fiona did actually kiss. Well done everyone, we are so very proud to be able to call you our own!

Oliver
2016
The Albury Wodonga Theatre Company’s (AWTCO) production of the lovable tale of the orphan boy ‘Oliver’ starred our very own Kobey Hudec in the lead role of Oliver. Other students involved from Xavier included Stella Klironomakis and Patrick Lockwood. All are congratulated on the months of hard work and commitment culminating in a wonderful local production. The show ran from the 28th to the 30th of April (all sold out shows!) and finished with a standing ovation on the final night! Bravo! As always, we are very proud of our young performers.
