NAPLAN 2016

30 December 2016

The results this year indicate growth in our Year 7 and 9 cohorts in writing.

This is a fabulous affirmation for our staff who have been working on an explicit writing focus with our students. In particular, I would like to acknowledge and thank the @Xavier team who have relentlessly focussed on improving student writing. It is fabulous to see that this work indicates an improvement in student writing and student learning growth.

Our Year 9 Literacy results were impressive across the board and demonstrated that we are above State Average and Diocesan averages in all areas of Literacy- Reading, Writing, Spelling and Punctuation and Grammar. We have also exceeded state and diocesan averages in Year 7 Writing. Our Numeracy results indicate increased improvement across all areas of numeracy- including Data and Measurement and Number patterns. If you would like to speak to staff regarding your child’s Naplan results please make contact with the school office.
