Year 10 Visual Arts CSU Sustainability Exhibition

05 August 2016

On Monday July 26th 2016, Ms. Lyn Coates’ Year 10 art class exhibited artworks at the grand opening of The Commons in Mate Street.

The exhibition was part of a collaboration between Charles Sturt University (CSU) and the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage, taking on the theme ‘The Art of Sustainability’. Works featured formed part of a sustainability project aimed to connect communities.

Throughout Term 2, Art students in Year 10 created a major project focusing on the theme of landscape, which coincided manner with the art competition. Artworks currently on display will be up for viewing until Friday 5th August before being returned to Xavier for our own exhibition. Works will be rotated between June and November with other artworks from district schools.

Paintings from Ms. Mary-Jayne Boyd’s Year 10 class will be exhibited from September 28th until October 10th, 2016.

District finalists will be awarded during the Border Sustainable Living Festivities and judged by lecturers from Charles Sturt University. The Commons is a community based facility designed to cater for various purposes; it provides food for those in need, as well as being a way to connect with local community members.
