With very little time to prepare for the event, our girls put in an enormous amount of extra work at the local library to ensure that they were prepared to passionately and intelligently contribute to the debate. The topics related to ideas of compassion and students debated topics such as People Smuggling is Always a Crime and The Economy is more important than Human Rights. Whilst Xavier was unsuccessful in reaching the finals, the debates represented a valuable learning experience, giving students the opportunity to develop and hone their debating skills. Well done to our four participants, who represented our school with passion and pride.
